Randa is a hamlet at the foot of the hill of Puig de Randa, within the district of Algaida in central Mallorca. It is a beautiful location with an abundance of springs, which have been used since ancient times. Like many other places, the church is the most emblematic building, though it´s worth noting that the traditional houses make this spot very picturesque. On the way out of Randa in the direction of Cura, on a stone street, is the water fountain of Font de Randa, a remnant from the water system constructed by the Moorish rulers of Mallorca in the Middle Ages. Part of the structure is subterranean and the water flows along troughs to the public washhouses, from where it continues on to the land of those who had rights to use the water for irrigation purposes.
