Son Catlar is a prehistoric town which came into being in the pre-talayótic period, and lived with splendour from the talayotic period until the end of the Roman era. It is distinguished from the rest, by the fact, that it is the only township in Minorca which conserves, in its entire state, a spectacular defence wall which surrounds it completely, with its nine hundred metres of length, six turrets and a bastion. In the interior we find the remains of the enclosure of a taula, five talayots and various rooms.
Address: Son Catlar is found 8 kilometres south of Ciutadella, along the Sant Joan de Missa path, heading towards the Son Saura beaches.
